About The Event
Join us at the Heronry on Bath Road to view the Great Blue Herons in their nesting colony. Learn about these prehistoric looking birds, their nesting routine and the history of their presence at this drive up location. Andrea Irland, Citizen Science Heron monitor for over 30 years, will lead the group through engaging activities and observations guaranteed to leave you with a new appreciation for these "macro" birds.
Some binoculars and spotting scopes will be available but bring binoculars if you have them. Rain or shine because herons don't care, but not thunderstorms because we do!
NOTE: This is not a hike as we will be viewing the nests from the road. Please be aware of your surroundings and oncoming traffic at all times,.
