About The Event
We're really excited to work with Cleveland Metroparks on this Intro to Climbing clinic! It will be a great introduction to outdoor rock climbing on natural rock, as you will learn how to tie knots, how to belay, proper climbing technique, and climbing terminology.
The rocks found at the Whipp’s Ledges in Hinckley Reservation are Sharon Conglomerate, a quartz sandstone. Cliffs range in height from 20 feet to nearly 50 feet high. Over 100 climbs offer something for everyone, and with ratings from 5.3 (easiest) to 5.12 (hardest), you are sure to find the perfect climb for you.
Chrissy Bennett is the OTC lead for this event.
DETAILS:
• Rock climbing equipment will be provided, including harnesses, helmets, and rock climbing shoes. If you have your own shoes, you may bring your own!
• Participants must be at least 14 years old.

Intro to Climbing Clinic
This registration includes all gear (e.g. climbing shoes, harness, rope, helmet, and instruction). The cost of this program is $35, please pay whatever you can. Anything above $35 will help us cover the costs of other participant.
