Join us as we learn about the essential equipment needed for fly fishing, basic casting techniques, fundamental knots for tying flies and leaders, considerations for selecting appropriate flies based on water conditions and insect life, proper fly presentation, basic fish handling and release techniques, and the fundamental principles of fly fishing etiquette and conservation practices.
Fly fishing is often associated with fishing in a river, but we are going to learn on a catch and release pond as we learn basic techniques. Learning on a pond will help us make it accessible for folks with mobility differences and it will provide us with space for practicing our casts (no one wants to get their lines stuck in a tree!).
The cost of this course is $60 and it includes fishing gear, flies, drinks, and lunch.
